William of Worcester's Chronicle of England
William of Worcester, born around 1415, and died around 1482 was secretary to John Fastolf, the renowned soldier of the Hundred Years War, during which time he collected documents, letters, and wrote a record of events. Following their return to England in 1440 William was witness to major events. Twice in his chronicle he uses the first person: 1. when writing about the murder of Thomas, 7th Baron Scales, in 1460, he writes '… and I saw him lying naked in the cemetery near the porch of the church of St. Mary Overie in Southwark …' and 2. describing King Edward IV's entry into London in 1461 he writes '… proclaimed that all the people themselves were to recognize and acknowledge Edward as king. I was present and heard this, and immediately went down with them into the city'. William’s Chronicle is rich in detail. It is the source of much information about the Wars of the Roses, including the term 'Diabolical Marriage' to describe the marriage of Queen Elizabeth Woodville’s brother John’s marriage to Katherine, Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, he aged twenty, she sixty-five or more, and the story about a paper crown being placed in mockery on the severed head of Richard, 3rd Duke of York.

On 27th October 1896 [her father] Christopher Temple Emmet (age 28) and [her mother] Alida Beekman Chanler (age 23) were married.
On 8th September 1897 Elizabeth Winthrop Emmet was born to [her father] Christopher Temple Emmet (age 29) and [her mother] Alida Beekman Chanler (age 24).
May 1899. William Bruce Ellis Ranken (age 18). [her future husband] Edwin Morgan (age 8) and Elizabeth Winthrop Emmet (age 1) on an open-air 'veranda' on the stern of their steam yacht.
Edwin Morgan: On 17th May 1890 he was born. In 1920 he and Elizabeth Winthrop Emmet were married. On 18th October 1954 he died.
In 16th February 1921 [her son] [her husband] Edwin Morgan was born to Edwin Morgan (age 30) and Elizabeth Winthrop Emmet (age 23). He married (1) 1949 Nancy Marie Whitney.

On 8th February 1934 Elizabeth Winthrop Emmet (age 36) died.
Mrs. Elizabeth E. Morgan, New York, Feb. 8 —(AP.)—Mrs. Elizabeth Emmet Morgan, widow of Edwin Dennison Morgan and a descendant of the first John Jacob Astor, died today in St. Luke's Hospital. She was 36 years old. In addition to her husband, a son of the late Edwin Lennison Morgan, noted yachtsman, she leaves two sons. Edwin Dennison Morgan, 3d, and Temple Emmet Morgan.
On 18th October 1954 [her former husband] Edwin Morgan (age 64) died.
