Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough
A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

Paternal Family Tree: Tynte
On 25th December 1704 [his father] John Tynte 2nd Baronet [aged 21] and [his mother] Jane Kemeys Lady Tynte [aged 19] were married at St Michael's Church, Clapton-in-Gordano. She by marriage Lady Tynte of Halswell in Somerset.
On or before 16th March 1710 [his father] John Tynte 2nd Baronet [aged 27] died. He was buried on 16th March 1710 at the Church of St Edward King and Martyr, Goathurst [Map]. His son [his brother] Halswell [aged 4] succeeded 3rd Baronet Tynte of Halswell in Somerset.
On 19th May 1710 Charles Tynte 5th Baronet was born to [his father] John Tynte 2nd Baronet and [his mother] Jane Kemeys Lady Tynte [aged 25].
In 1735 [his uncle] Charles Kemeys 4th Baronet [aged 46] died unmarried. Baronet Kemeys of Kevanmabley in Glamorganshire extinct. His estates passed to his sister [his mother] Jane Kemeys Lady Tynte [aged 50] who had married [his father] John Tynte 2nd Baronet in 1704.
On 9th March 1738 Charles Tynte 5th Baronet [aged 27] and Anne Busby Lady Tynte were married.
On 15th August 1740 John Tynte 4th Baronet [aged 33] died unmarried. His brother Charles [aged 30] succeeded 5th Baronet Tynte of Halswell in Somerset. Anne Busby Lady Tynte by marriage Lady Tynte of Halswell in Somerset.
On 14th March 1745 Charles Tynte 5th Baronet [aged 34] was elected unopposed MP Monmouth Boroughs.
In 1747 Charles Tynte 5th Baronet [aged 36] was elected unopposed MP Somerset. He was returned again in the general elections of 1754, 1761 and 1768. He did not stand in 1774 for health reasons.
On or before 16th October 1747 [his mother] Jane Kemeys Lady Tynte [aged 62] died. She was buried on 16th October 1747 at the Church of St Edward King and Martyr, Goathurst [Map].
On 25th April 1785 Charles Tynte 5th Baronet [aged 74] died. Baronet Tynte of Halswell in Somerset extinct. He was buried on 8th September 1785 at the Church of St Edward King and Martyr, Goathurst [Map] where he has amonument by Joseph Nollekens [aged 47]. His estates were inherired by his niece Jane Hassell, daughter of his sister Jane Tynte, who had married Colonel John Johnson aka Kemeys-Tynte who changed his name from Johnson to Kemeys-Tynte.
On or before 24th March 1798 [his former wife] Anne Busby Lady Tynte died. On 24th March 1798 she was buried at the Church of St Edward King and Martyr, Goathurst [Map].
