The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.
On 24th April 1702 [her father] Edmund Dunch (age 24) and [her mother] Elizabeth Godfrey were married.
In 1711 Elizabeth Dunch Lady Oxenden was born to Edmund Dunch (age 33) and Elizabeth Godfrey.
On 31st May 1719 [her father] Edmund Dunch (age 41) died.
On 21st April 1720 Henry Oxenden 4th Baronet (age 29) died without issue. His brother [her future husband] George (age 25) succeeded 5th Baronet Oxenden of Dene in Kent. Elizabeth Dunch Lady Oxenden (age 9) by marriage Lady Oxenden of Dene in Kent.
In May 1720 George Oxenden 5th Baronet (age 25) and Elizabeth Dunch Lady Oxenden (age 9) were married. They had three sons and three daughters.
On 5th September 1721 [her son] Henry Oxenden 6th Baronet was born to [her husband] George Oxenden 5th Baronet (age 26) and Elizabeth Dunch Lady Oxenden (age 10).

In 1755 Elizabeth Dunch Lady Oxenden (age 44) died.
On 20th January 1775 [her former husband] George Oxenden 5th Baronet (age 80) died. His son [her son] Henry (age 53) succeeded 6th Baronet Oxenden of Dene in Kent. [her daughter-in-law] Margaret Chudleigh Lady Oxenden (age 51) by marriage Lady Oxenden of Dene in Kent.
