The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

In 1697 Frances Hales Countess Lichfield was born to John Hales 4th Baronet (age 25) and Mary Bellings-Arundell Lady Hales.

On 14th July 1716 Edward Lee 1st Earl Lichfield (age 53) died. His son [her future husband] George (age 26) succeeded 2nd Earl Lichfield, 6th Baronet Lee of Quarrendon in Buckinghamshire. Frances Hales Countess Lichfield (age 19) by marriage Countess Lichfield.

Before 21st May 1718 George Henry Lee 2nd Earl Lichfield (age 28) and Frances Hales Countess Lichfield (age 21) were married. He the son of Edward Lee 1st Earl Lichfield and Charlotte Fitzroy Countess Lichfield.

On 21st May 1718 [her son] George Henry Lee 3rd Earl Lichfield was born to [her husband] George Henry Lee 2nd Earl Lichfield (age 28) and Frances Hales Countess Lichfield (age 21) at Windsor Castle [Map]. He a great grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

Around 1719 [her son] Charles Henry Lee was born to [her husband] George Henry Lee 2nd Earl Lichfield (age 28) and Frances Hales Countess Lichfield (age 22). He a great grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 21st January 1721 [her daughter] Frances Lee was born to [her husband] George Henry Lee 2nd Earl Lichfield (age 30) and Frances Hales Countess Lichfield (age 24). She a great granddaughter of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

He the son of Henry Hyde 2nd Earl Rochester 4th Earl Clarendon (age 65) and Jane Leveson-Gower Countess Rochester and Clarendon.

In or before 1740 [her step-father] Henry Arundell 7th Baron Arundel (age 22) and [her mother] Mary Belling were married. She by marriage Baroness Arundel of Wardour in Wiltshire. They were fourth cousin once removed.
