Biography of Henry Edward Bunbury 7th Baronet 1778-1860

Paternal Family Tree: Bunbury

On 2nd June 1762 [his uncle] Thomas Charles Bunbury 6th Baronet (age 22) and Sarah Lennox Lady Bunbury (age 17) were married. The marriage was dissolved in Feb 1769 since she had had a child with William Gordon (age 18) in 1768. The decree for divorce was issued on 14th May 1776. One of her daughters with Colonel George Napier (age 11), [his future wife] Emily Louisa Augusta Napier Lady Bunbury, would subsequently marry Charles Bunbury's nephew and heir Henry Edward Bunbury 7th Baronet. She the daughter of Charles Lennox 2nd Duke Richmond and Sarah Cadogan Duchess Richmond.

In August 1771 [his father] Henry William Bunbury (age 21) and [his mother] Catherine Horneck (age 21) were married.

On 4th March 1778 Henry Edward Bunbury 7th Baronet was born to Henry William Bunbury (age 27) and Catherine Horneck (age 28).

In 1799 [his mother] Catherine Horneck (age 49) died.

On 4th April 1807 Henry Edward Bunbury 7th Baronet (age 29) and Louisa Amelia Fox were married.

On 4th February 1809 [his son] Charles Bunbury 8th Baronet was born to Henry Edward Bunbury 7th Baronet (age 30) and [his wife] Louisa Amelia Fox at @@ Messina.

On 7th May 1811 [his father] Henry William Bunbury (age 60) died.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 8th July 1811 [his son] Edward Herbert Bunbury 9th Baronet was born to Henry Edward Bunbury 7th Baronet (age 33) and [his wife] Louisa Amelia Fox.

On 2nd September 1812 [his son] Henry William St Pierre Bunbury was born to Henry Edward Bunbury 7th Baronet (age 34) and [his wife] Louisa Amelia Fox.

On 31st March 1821 [his uncle] Thomas Charles Bunbury 6th Baronet (age 80) died. His nephew Henry (age 43) succeeded 7th Baronet Bunbury of Bunbury in Oxfordshire and Stanney Hall in Cheshire.

In 1828 [his wife] Louisa Amelia Fox died.

On 22nd September 1830 Henry Edward Bunbury 7th Baronet (age 52) and Emily Louisa Augusta Napier Lady Bunbury (age 47) were married. She by marriage Lady Bunbury of Bunbury in Oxfordshire and Stanney Hall in Cheshire.

On 30th November 1852 [his son] Henry William St Pierre Bunbury (age 40) and [his daughter-in-law] Cecila Caroline Napier (age 33) were married at Holy Innocents Church, Great Barton. They were second cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 13th April 1860 Henry Edward Bunbury 7th Baronet (age 82) died. His son [his son] Charles (age 51) succeeded 8th Baronet Bunbury of Bunbury in Oxfordshire and Stanney Hall in Cheshire.

In 1863 [his former wife] Emily Louisa Augusta Napier Lady Bunbury (age 80) died.
