In 1751 Herbert Croft 5th Baronet was born to Herbert Croft (age 29).
In March 1771 Herbert Croft 5th Baronet (age 20) matriculated University College, Oxford University.
In 1785 [his father] Herbert Croft (age 63) died.
In 1786 Herbert Croft 5th Baronet (age 35) was appointed Vicar of Prittlewell in Essex.
Before 8th February 1792 Herbert Croft 5th Baronet (age 41) and Sophia Cleave were married.
On 8th February 1792 [his wife] Sophia Cleave died.
On 25th February 1795 Herbert Croft 5th Baronet (age 44) and Elizabeth Lewis Lady Croft were married. The next day he was imprisoned at Exeter Jail for debt.

The Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough, a canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: "In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed." On 4th December 1797 John Croft 4th Baronet (age 62) died. His first cousin once removed Herbert (age 46) succeeded 5th Baronet Croft of Croft Castle in Herefordshire although he didn't inherit the estates.
In September 1815 [his wife] Elizabeth Lewis Lady Croft died.
On 26th April 1816 Herbert Croft 5th Baronet (age 65) died. His brother [his brother] Richard (age 54) succeeded 6th Baronet Croft of Croft Castle in Herefordshire
