Before 28th February 1833 James aka John Wilson Carmichael (age 32) and Mary Sweet (age 28) were married.

1847. James aka John Wilson Carmichael (age 46). "HMS Erebus and Terror in the Antarctic".

1851. James aka John Wilson Carmichael (age 50). "The Irwin Lighthouse, Storm Raging".

Before 1st June 1856 [his son-in-law] Gustave Schmalz and [his daughter] Margaret Carmichael were married. She the daughter of James aka John Wilson Carmichael (age 55) and [his wife] Mary Sweet (age 52).

1858. James aka John Wilson Carmichael (age 57). "Off the Dutch Coast".

On 2nd May 1868 James aka John Wilson Carmichael (age 67) died.

In January 1879 [his former wife] Mary Sweet (age 74) died.
