In 1593 John Leventhorpe 1st Baronet (age 33) was appointed High Sheriff of Hertfordshire.
On or before 15th September 1594 [his son] Charles Leventhorpe 5th Baronet was born to John Leventhorpe 1st Baronet (age 34) and [his wife] Joan Brograve Lady Leventhorpe. He was baptised on 15th September 1594.
On 7th May 1603 during his journey south King James I of England and Ireland and VI of Scotland (age 36) stayed at Theobalds House, Hertfordshire as a guest of William Cecil 1st Baron Burghley.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 30th May 1622 John Leventhorpe 1st Baronet (age 62) was created 1st Baronet Leventhorpe of Shingey Hall in Hertfordshire. [his wife] Joan Brograve Lady Leventhorpe by marriage Lady Leventhorpe of Shingey Hall in Hertfordshire.
On 23rd September 1625 John Leventhorpe 1st Baronet (age 65) died. His son [his son] Thomas (age 33) succeeded 2nd Baronet Leventhorpe of Shingey Hall in Hertfordshire.
On 25th September 1625 John Leventhorpe 1st Baronet (deceased) was buried at Great St Mary's Church, Sawbridgeworth.
On or before 1st March 1628 [his former wife] Joan Brograve Lady Leventhorpe died. She was buried at Great St Mary's Church, Sawbridgeworth on 1st March 1628.
