Jean de Waurin's Chronicle of England Volume 6 Books 3-6: The Wars of the Roses
Jean de Waurin was a French Chronicler, from the Artois region, who was born around 1400, and died around 1474. Waurin’s Chronicle of England, Volume 6, covering the period 1450 to 1471, from which we have selected and translated Chapters relating to the Wars of the Roses, provides a vivid, original, contemporary description of key events some of which he witnessed first-hand, some of which he was told by the key people involved with whom Waurin had a personal relationship.

On 12th November 1952 [his son] David Brudenell-Bruce 9th Marquess of Ailesbury was born to Michael Brudenell-Bruce 8th Marquess of Ailesbury (age 26) and [his wife] Edwina Sylvia de Winton-Wills (age 19). He married (1) 1980 Rosamund Jane Winkley Marchioness of Ailesbury.
In 1961 Michael Brudenell-Bruce 8th Marquess of Ailesbury (age 34) and Edwina Sylvia de Winton-Wills (age 28) were divorced.
On 4th August 1961 [his grandfather] George Brudenell-Bruce 6th Marquess of Ailesbury (age 88) died. His son [his father] Cedric (age 57) succeeded 7th Marquess Ailesbury, 13th Earl Cardigan, 8th Earl Ailesbury, 7th Earl Bruce of Whorlton in Yorkshire, 7th Viscount Savernake of Savernake Forest in Wiltshire, 13th Baron Brudenell of Stonton in Leicestershire, 8th Baron Bruce of Tottenham in Wiltshire.
On 10th July 1963 Michael Brudenell-Bruce 8th Marquess of Ailesbury (age 37) and Juliet Adrienne Lethbridge Kingsford were married. He the son of Cedric Brudenell-Bruce 7th Marquess of Ailesbury (age 59).
In 1974 Michael Brudenell-Bruce 8th Marquess of Ailesbury (age 47) and Juliet Adrienne Lethbridge Kingsford were divorced.
On 15th July 1974 [his father] Cedric Brudenell-Bruce 7th Marquess of Ailesbury (age 70) died. His son Michael (age 48) succeeded 8th Marquess Ailesbury, 14th Earl Cardigan, 9th Earl Ailesbury, 8th Earl Bruce of Whorlton in Yorkshire, 8th Viscount Savernake of Savernake Forest in Wiltshire, 14th Baron Brudenell of Stonton in Leicestershire, 9th Baron Bruce of Tottenham in Wiltshire.
On 18th September 1974 Michael Brudenell-Bruce 8th Marquess of Ailesbury (age 48) and Caroline Elizabeth Wethered Marchioness of Ailesbury (age 37) were married. She by marriage Marchioness Ailesbury. He the son of Cedric Brudenell-Bruce 7th Marquess of Ailesbury.
Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough
A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

In 2023 [his former wife] Edwina Sylvia de Winton-Wills (age 90) died.
On 12th May 2024 Michael Brudenell-Bruce 8th Marquess of Ailesbury (age 98) died after falling from a window at his home in the Shepherd's Bush area of London. His son David (age 71) succeeded 9th Marquess Ailesbury, 15th Earl Cardigan, 10th Earl Ailesbury, 9th Earl Bruce of Whorlton in Yorkshire, 9th Viscount Savernake of Savernake Forest in Wiltshire, 15th Baron Brudenell of Stonton in Leicestershire, 10th Baron Bruce of Tottenham in Wiltshire.
