Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Biography of Oliver St John 1st Viscount Grandison 1559-1630

Paternal Family Tree: St John

Oliver St John 1st and Joan Roydon Viscountess Grandison were married. She by marriage Viscountess Grandison.

In or before 1552 [his father] Nicholas St John (age 27) and [his mother] Elizabeth Blount (age 11) were married.

In 1559 Oliver St John 1st was born to [his father] Nicholas St John (age 34) and [his mother] Elizabeth Blount (age 19).

On 8th November 1589 [his father] Nicholas St John (age 64) died at Lydiard Tregoze, Wiltshire.

On 11th May 1597 [his mother] Elizabeth Blount (age 57) died.

On 3rd January 1612 Oliver St John 1st (age 53) was created 1st Viscount Grandison.

On 24th January 1620 James Dillon 1st Earl Roscommon (age 70) was created 1st Baron Dillon in a ceremony performed by the Lord Deputy Oliver St John 1st (age 61) in the Presence Chamber of Dublin Castle.

The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy

The Gesta Normannorum Ducum [The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy] is a landmark medieval chronicle tracing the rise and fall of the Norman dynasty from its early roots through the pivotal events surrounding the Norman Conquest of England. Originally penned in Latin by the monk William of Jumièges shortly before 1060 and later expanded at the behest of William the Conqueror, the work chronicles the deeds, politics, battles, and leadership of the Norman dukes, especially William’s own claim to the English throne. Today this classic work remains a foundational source for understanding Norman identity, medieval statesmanship, and the historical forces that reshaped England and Western Europe between 800AD and 1100AD.

On 29th December 1630 Oliver St John 1st (age 71) died. His great nephew William (age 16) succeeded 2nd Viscount Grandison. Mary Bayning Countess Anglesey (age 7) by marriage Viscountess Grandison.
