In or before 1757 [his father] General George Ainslie (age 30) and [his mother] Anne Sharpe were married.
In 1757 Robert Sharpe Ainslie of Market Stainton was born to General George Ainslie (age 30) and Anne Sharpe.
In 1802 Robert Sharpe Ainslie of Market Stainton (age 45) was elected MP Mitchell Cornwall which seat he held until 1806.
On 7th July 1804 [his father] General George Ainslie (age 77) died.

The King, has been pleased to grant the Dignity of a Baronet of the United Kingdom of Great England and Ireland unto Sir [his uncle] Robert Ainslie (age 74), of Great Torrington, in the County of Lincoln, Knight, late His Majefty's Ambassador at the Ottoman Porte, and the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully begotten, with Remainder to Robert Sharpe Ainslie (age 47), of Market Stainton, in the said County of Lincoln, Esq.; Nephew of the said Sir Robert Ainslie, and Son of [his father] General George Ainslie, deceased, and the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully-begotten.
The King has also been pleased to grant the Dignity of a Baronet of the said, United Kingdom to William Burroughs (age 51), Esq; late Advocate-General of Bengal and the Heirs Male of his Body lawfully begotten.
On 21st July 1812 [his uncle] Robert Ainslie 1st Baronet (age 82) died. His nephew Robert (age 55) succeeded 2nd Baronet Ainslie of Great Torrington in Lincolnshire.
On 26th June 1835 Robert Sharpe Ainslie of Market Stainton (age 78) and Elizabeth Wanger (age 71) were married. They had had several children before they married.
On 14th March 1858 Robert Sharpe Ainslie of Market Stainton died, desiring that he might 'not have even a headstone' placed over his grave. Baronet Ainslie of Great Torrington in Lincolnshire extinct since his children were all illegitimate.
On 15th September 1868 [his former wife] Elizabeth Wanger died.
