In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

On 9th May 1749 William Tatton Egerton was born to [his step-father] William Tatton (age 45) and [his mother] Hester Egerton (age 41).
On 28th April 1776 [his step-father] William Tatton (age 72) died.
On 9th January 1777 [his wife] Frances Maria Fountayne (age 26) died.
On 9th July 1780 [his mother] Hester Egerton (age 72) died.
On 26th October 1780 William Tatton Egerton (age 31) and Mary Wilbraham-Bootle (age 21) were married.
On 1st September 1781 [his son] Wilbraham Egerton was born to William Tatton Egerton (age 32) and [his wife] Mary Wilbraham-Bootle (age 22). He married before 30th December 1806 his half first cousin Elizabeth Sykes, daughter of Christopher Sykes 2nd Baronet and Elizabeth Tatton, and had issue.
On 13th November 1784 [his wife] Mary Wilbraham-Bootle (age 25) died.
Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 1st November 1803 William Tatton Egerton (age 54) and Charlotte Clara Watkinson were married.
On 21st April 1806 William Tatton Egerton (age 56) died.
[his son] Thomas William Tatton was born to William Tatton Egerton and Mary Wilbraham-Bootle. He married 20th October 1807 Emma Grey and had issue.
[his daughter] Mary Elizabeth Egerton Lady Sledmere was born to William Tatton Egerton and Mary Wilbraham-Bootle. She married 2nd August 1814 her half first cousin Mark Masterman-Sykes 3rd Baronet, son of Christopher Sykes 2nd Baronet and Elizabeth Tatton.
