In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

In 1655 Francis Leke 1st Earl Scarsdale [aged 74] died. In 1655 His son Nicholas [aged 43] succeeded 2nd Earl Scarsdale, 2nd Baron Deincourt of Sutton, 2nd Baronet Leke of Sutton in Derbyshire. Frances Rich Countess Scarsdale by marriage Countess Scarsdale.
On 27th January 1681 Nicholas Leke 2nd Earl Scarsdale [aged 69] died. His son Robert [aged 26] succeeded 3rd Earl Scarsdale, 3rd Baron Deincourt of Sutton, 3rd Baronet Leke of Sutton in Derbyshire. Mary Lewis Countess Scarsdale [aged 23] by marriage Countess Scarsdale.
On 27th December 1707 Robert Leke 3rd Earl Scarsdale [aged 53] died without surviving issue. His nephew Nicholas [aged 25] succeeded 4th Earl Scarsdale, 4th Baron Deincourt of Sutton, 4th Baronet Leke of Sutton in Derbyshire.
On 16th April 1736 Nicholas Leke 4th Earl Scarsdale [aged 54] died. Earl Scarsdale, Baron Deincourt of Sutton and Baronet Leke of Sutton in Derbyshire extinct.
