The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

She married 1394 her half fourth cousin once removed Albert Wittelsbach I Duke Bavaria, son of Louis Wittelsbach IV Holy Roman Emperor and Margaret Hainault Holy Roman Empress.

In 1378 [his daughter] Elisabeth La Marck Duchess Bavaria was born to Adolph La Marck (age 44) and [his wife] Margaret Jülich Countess Cleves and Mark (age 28). She married 16th January 1401 Stephen "Magnificient Fop" Wittelsbach III Duke Bavaria, son of Stephen Wittelsbach II Duke Bavaria and Elisabeth Barcelona Duchess Bavaria.

In 1381 [his brother] Engelbert La Marck III Count La Marck (age 47) and [his sister-in-law] Elisabeth Sponheim Countess Mark were married. She by marriage Countess Mark. He the son of [his father] Adolph La Marck II Count La Marck and [his mother] Margaret Cleves Countess Mark.

In 1389 [his brother] Dietrich La Marck Bishop Liège was appointed Bishop Liège.

On 22nd December 1391 [his brother] Engelbert La Marck III Count La Marck (age 58) died. His brother Adolph (age 57) succeeded III Count Mark. [his wife] Margaret Jülich Countess Cleves and Mark (age 41) by marriage Countess Mark.

In 1394 [his son-in-law] Albert Wittelsbach I Duke Bavaria (age 57) and [his daughter] Margaret La Marck Duchess Bavaria (age 19) were married. The difference in their ages was 38 years. On 7th September 1394 Adolph La Marck (age 60) died.

On 10th October 1425 [his former wife] Margaret Jülich Countess Cleves and Mark (age 75) died.

The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.
