Biography of Rifleman Hughtred Hall Robinson 1889-1916

On 16th February 1886 [his father] James Robinson (age 24) and [his mother] Annie Elizabeth Hall (age 29) were married at St Martin's Church, Osmaston [Map] in the presence of William bayles hall and Mary-Lucy Hall. He resident at Hayfield, Derbyshire [Map], she at Osmaston, Derbyshire. His father is [his grandfather] Isaac Robinson (age 50)described as a Labourer, her father William bayles hall as a Butler.

On 20th April 1889 Rifleman Hughtred Hall Robinson was born to [his father] James Robinson (age 27) and [his mother] Annie Elizabeth Hall (age 32).

On 9th June 1889 Rifleman Hughtred Hall Robinson was baptised at St Matthew's Church, Hayfield [Map]. His parent's address given as Scotch Row.

On 5th December 1914 Rifleman Hughtred Hall Robinson (age 25) enlisted into the King's Royal Rifle Corps. He was living at Lucas Terrace, Hayfield when he enlisted; he was twenty-five years and five months old. His trade was described as Labourer.

On 19th August 1916 Rifleman Hughtred Hall Robinson (age 27) was killed in action whilst serving with the 7th Battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps; Service No. R/7949. He is buried at Delville Wood Cemetery, Longueval, Somme, France, Plot III. H. 2.
