On 8th May 1617 James Hamilton 2nd Earl Abercorn (age 13) was created 1st Baron Hamilton of Strabane.

In 1627 James Hamilton 2nd Earl Abercorn (age 23) and Katherine Clifton Duchess Lennox (age 35) were married. She by marriage Baroness Hamilton of Strabane. He the son of James Hamilton 1st Earl Abercorn and Marion Boyd Countess Abercorn (age 44).

In 1638 Claud Hamilton 2nd Baron Hamilton of Strabane (age 33) died. His son James (age 5) succeeded 3rd Baron Hamilton of Strabane.

In 1655 James Hamilton 3rd Baron Hamilton of Strabane (age 22) drowned in the River Mourne near Strabane. His brother George (age 21) succeeded 4th Baron Hamilton of Strabane.

In 1668 George Hamilton 4th Baron Hamilton of Strabane (age 34) died. His son Claud (age 9) succeeded 5th Baron Hamilton of Strabane.

In 1670 James Hamilton 2nd Earl Abercorn (age 66) died. His son George (age 34) succeeded 3rd Earl Abercorn. His brother Claud succeeded 2nd Baron Hamilton of Strabane.
