The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 8th April 1769 Richard Wolsley 1st Baronet (age 74) died. His son Richard (age 40) succeeded 2nd Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

On 28th July 1781 Richard Wolseley 2nd Baronet (age 52) died. His son William (age 6) succeeded 3rd Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

On 30th August 1819 William Wolseley 3rd Baronet (age 44) died unmarried. His first cousin Richard (age 59) succeeded 4th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

On 3rd May 1852 Reverend Richard Wolseley 4th Baronet (age 91) died without issue. His nephew Clement (age 57) succeeded 5th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

On 30th October 1857 Clement Wolseley 5th Baronet (age 63) died. His son John (age 23) succeeded 6th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

On 20th June 1874 John Wolseley 6th Baronet (age 39) died. His brother Clement (age 36) succeeded 7th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

On 16th October 1889 Clement Wolseley 7th Baronet (age 52) died without issue. His first cousin once removed Very (age 86) succeeded 8th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

On 26th January 1890 Very Reverend John Wolseley 8th Baronet (age 86) died without issue. His second cousin twice removed Capel (age 19) succeeded 9th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

On 27th August 1923 Capel Charles Wolsleley 9th Baronet (age 53) died in a car accident being struck by a car whilst cycling. His first cousin Reginald (age 51) succeeded 10th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow. He, Reginald, was at the time working as an elevator operator at a hotel in Waterloo, Iowa; he kept his title secret.

On 10th July 1933 Reginald Beatty Wolseley 10th Baronet (age 61) died. His first cousin once removed William (age 68) succeeded 11th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

On 19th February 1950 Reverend William Wolseley 11th Baronet (age 84) died. His second cousin once removed Garnet (age 34) succeeded 12th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.

In October 1991 Garnet Wolseley 12th Baronet (age 76) died. His third cousin twice removed James (age 54) succeeded 13th Baronet Wolseley of Mount Wolseley in County Carlow.
