The Gesta Normannorum Ducum [The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy] is a landmark medieval chronicle tracing the rise and fall of the Norman dynasty from its early roots through the pivotal events surrounding the Norman Conquest of England. Originally penned in Latin by the monk William of Jumièges shortly before 1060 and later expanded at the behest of William the Conqueror, the work chronicles the deeds, politics, battles, and leadership of the Norman dukes, especially William’s own claim to the English throne. In 1780 George Forbes 5th Earl Granard (age 40) died. His son George (age 20) succeeded 6th Earl Granard. Selina Frances Rawdon Countess Granard (age 20) by marriage Countess Granard.

In 1837 George Forbes 6th Earl Granard (age 77) died. His grandson George (age 3) succeeded 7th Earl Granard, 2nd Baron Granard of Castle Donnington in Leicestershire.

On 4th September 1873 George Arthur Hastings Forbes 7th Earl Granard (age 40) and Frances Mary Petre Countess Granard (age 27) were married. She by marriage Countess Granard.

On 25th August 1889 George Arthur Hastings Forbes 7th Earl Granard (age 56) died. His son Bernard (age 14) succeeded 8th Earl Granard, 3rd Baron Granard of Castle Donnington in Leicestershire.

On 14th January 1909 Bernard Forbes 8th Earl of Granard (age 34) and Beatrice Mills (age 25) were married. She by marriage Countess Granard. He the son of George Arthur Hastings Forbes 7th Earl Granard.

On 10th September 1948 Bernard Forbes 8th Earl of Granard (age 73) died. His son Arthur (age 33) succeeded 9th Earl Granard, 4th Baron Granard of Castle Donnington in Leicestershire.

On 21st November 1992 Arthur Forbes 9th Earl of Granard (age 77) died. His nephew Peter (age 35) succeeded 10th Earl Granard, 5th Baron Granard of Castle Donnington in Leicestershire.
