The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 17th February 1875 [her daughter] Louise Glücksburg was born to [her husband] Frederick VIII King Denmark (age 31) and Louise of Sweden Queen Consort Denmark (age 23).
In 1876 [her brother-in-law] George I King Greece (age 30) was appointed 766th Knight of the Garter by Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom (age 56).
On 8th October 1876 [her son] Harald Glücksburg was born to [her husband] Frederick VIII King Denmark (age 33) and Louise of Sweden Queen Consort Denmark (age 24).
On 2nd August 1878 [her daughter] Princess Ingeborg Glücksburg was born to [her husband] Frederick VIII King Denmark (age 35) and Louise of Sweden Queen Consort Denmark (age 26).
On 22nd December 1878 Ernest Augustus Hanover 3rd Duke Cumberland and Teviotdale (age 33) and [her sister-in-law] Thyra Glücksburg Duchess Cumberland and Teviotdale (age 25) were married. She by marriage Duchess Cumberland and Teviotdale. She the daughter of [her father-in-law] King Christian IX of Denmark (age 60) and [her mother-in-law] Queen Louise Hesse-Kassel of Denmark (age 61). On 9th August 1902 King Edward VII of the United Kingdom (age 60) was crowned VII King of the United Kingdom at Westminster Abbey [Map]. [her sister-in-law] Alexandra Glücksburg Queen Consort England (age 57) was crowned Queen Consort by Archbishop William Dalrymple Maclagan (age 76).
Winifred, Duchess of Portland (age 38), wearing the The Portland Diamond Tiara, commissioned esppecially for the event, served as a canopy bearer to Queen Alexandra.

On 4th April 1906 [her daughter] Louise Glücksburg (age 31) died.
In 1912 George Holford (age 51) and Susannah West Wilson (age 47) were married at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace. King George VI of the United Kingdom (age 16), Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon Queen Consort England (age 11), [her sister-in-law] Alexandra Glücksburg Queen Consort England (age 67) and Princess Victoria Windsor (age 43) were present. The Times reported ... "The aisle was lined by non-commissioned officers of the bridegroom's old regiment the 1st Life Guards. The bride who was given away by her two sons, wore a gown of old Point d'Alençon lace with a train of gold brocade veiled in chiffon. Instead of a hat she wore a headdress of gold lace and pink roses and she carried a bouquet of orchids ... The King and Queen gave Sir George Holford a pair of sleeve links bearing the Royal monogram in diamonds and rubies."

She the daughter of [her former husband] Frederick VIII King Denmark and Louise of Sweden Queen Consort Denmark (age 67). They were first cousins. He a great x 4 grandson of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King George II of Great Britain and Ireland.
On 20th March 1926 Louise of Sweden Queen Consort Denmark (age 74) died.
