The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 11th August 1778 Lionel Pilkington 5th Baronet (age 71) died unmarried. His brother Michael (age 63) succeeded 6th Baronet Pilkington of Stanley in Yorkshire.

On 6th February 1788 Michael Pilkington 6th Baronet (age 72) died. His son Thomas (age 14) succeeded 7th Baronet Pilkington of Stanley in Yorkshire.

On 1st August 1797 Thomas Pilkington 7th Baronet (age 23) and Elizabeth Anne Tufnel Lady Pilkington were married. She by marriage Lady Pilkington of Stanley in Yorkshire.

On 9th July 1811 Thomas Pilkington 7th Baronet (age 37) died. His brother William (age 35) succeeded 8th Baronet Pilkington of Stanley in Yorkshire.

On 30th September 1850 William Pilkington 8th Baronet (age 74) died. He was buried at St Helen's Church, Sandal. His son Thomas (age 21) succeeded 9th Baronet Pilkington of Stanley in Yorkshire.

On 7th February 1854 Thomas Edward Pilkington 9th Baronet (age 24) died unmarried. His brother William (age 22) succeeded 10th Baronet Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington of Stanley in Yorkshire.

On 17th February 1944 Thomas Edward Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington 12th Baronet (age 86) died. His son Arthur (age 45) succeeded 13th Baronet Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington of Stanley in Yorkshire.

On 24th July 1952 Arthur William Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington 13th Baronet (age 54) died. His son Thomas (age 18) succeeded 14th Baronet Milborne-Swinnerton-Pilkington of Stanley in Yorkshire.
