In 1791 [his father] Charles Gould aka Morgan 2nd Baronet [aged 30] and [his mother] Mary Margaret or Magdalen Stoney were married.
On 10th April 1792 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar was born to [his father] Charles Gould aka Morgan 2nd Baronet [aged 32] and [his mother] Mary Margaret or Magdalen Stoney. He was educated at Harrow School, Westminster School [Map] and Christ Church College, Oxford University.
On 27th June 1792 John Morgan [aged 50] died. His sister [his grandmother] Jane Morgan [aged 61] and her husband [his grandfather] Charles Gould aka Morgan 1st Baronet [aged 66] and inherited Tredegar House, Monmouthshire on condition he changed his name from Gould to Morgan which he did by royal licence on 20th November 1792. His children including [his father] Charles Gould aka Morgan 2nd Baronet [aged 32] also changed their surname.
On 7th December 1806 [his grandfather] Charles Gould aka Morgan 1st Baronet [aged 80] died at Tredegar House, Monmouthshire. His son [his father] Charles [aged 46] succeeded 2nd Baronet Morgan of Tredegar.
In 1812 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 19] was elected MP Brecon.
In 1821 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 28] was appointed High Sheriff of Monmouthshire.
In 1821 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 28] was appointed High Sheriff of Breconshire.
In 1827 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 34] and Rosamund Mundy [aged 17] were married.
In 1830 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 37] was elected MP Brecon.
On 28th April 1831 [his son] Godfrey Morgan 1st Viscount Tredegar was born to Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 39] and [his wife] Rosamund Mundy [aged 21] at Ruperra Castle, Monmouthshire [Map]. He was educated at Eton College [Map].
On 24th May 1834 [his son] Frederick Courtenay Morgan was born to Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 42] and [his wife] Rosamund Mundy [aged 24] at Ruperra Castle, Monmouthshire [Map]. He was educated at Eton College [Map].
In 1835 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 42] was elected MP Brecon.
The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.

On 5th December 1846 [his father] Charles Gould aka Morgan 2nd Baronet [aged 86] died. His son Charles [aged 54] succeeded 3rd Baronet Morgan of Tredegar.
On 16th April 1859 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 67] was created 1st Baron Tredegar of Tredegar in Monmouthshire.
On 16th July 1863 [his son-in-law] Robert Devereux 16th Viscount Hereford [aged 20] and [his daughter] Mary Anna Morgan Viscountess Hereford were married. She by marriage Viscountess Hereford.
In 1866 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 73] was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Brecknockshire which position he held for life.
On 16th April 1875 Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar [aged 83] died. His son Godfrey [aged 43] succeeded 2nd Baron Tredegar of Tredegar in Monmouthshire, 4th Baronet Morgan of Tredegar.
On 3rd January 1883 [his former wife] Rosamund Mundy [aged 73] died.
[his daughter] Mary Anna Morgan Viscountess Hereford was born to Charles Morgan 1st Baron Tredegar and Rosamund Mundy. She married 16th July 1863 Robert Devereux 16th Viscount Hereford, son of Robert Devereux 15th Viscount Hereford, and had issue.
