The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

Around 1630 [his son] Henry Mansel 3rd Baronet was born to Lewis Mansel 2nd Baronet (age 36) and [his wife] Elizabeth Montagu Lady Sebright and Mansel (age 23).

Before 20th December 1631 [his father] Thomas Mansel 1st Baronet (age 75) and Jane Pole were married.

On 20th December 1631 [his father] Thomas Mansel 1st Baronet (age 75) died. His son Lewis (age 37) succeeded 2nd Baronet Mansel of Margam. [his wife] Elizabeth Montagu Lady Sebright and Mansel (age 24) by marriage Lady Mansel of Margam.

In 1637 [his son] Edward Mansel 4th Baronet was born to Lewis Mansel 2nd Baronet (age 43) and [his wife] Elizabeth Montagu Lady Sebright and Mansel (age 30).

On 4th April 1638 Lewis Mansel 2nd Baronet (age 44) died. His son [his son] Henry (age 8) succeeded 3rd Baronet Mansel of Margam.

Before 1645 Edward Sebright 1st Baronet (age 59) and [his former wife] Elizabeth Montagu Lady Sebright and Mansel (age 37) were married. She by marriage Lady Sebright of Besford in Worcestershire. The difference in their ages was 22 years. She the daughter of [his former father-in-law] Henry Montagu 1st Earl Manchester and Catherine Spencer.

In 1658 [his former wife] Elizabeth Montagu Lady Sebright and Mansel (age 51) died.
