Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 2nd February 1141 the army of Empress Matilda [aged 38] commanded by Robert Normandy 1st Earl Gloucester [aged 42] defeated the army of King Stephen I England [aged 47]. Matilda's army included Ranulf Gernon 4th Earl Chester [aged 42] and Madog ap Maredudd Mathrafal Prince Powys. King Stephen I England, Gilbert Gaunt 1st Earl Lincoln [aged 15], William "The Younger" Peverell [aged 61] and Ilbert Lacy 3rd Baron Pontefract were captured. William of Blois 1st Earl Albemarle 1st Earl York [aged 40] fought for Stephen, his cousin.
Before 1150 Madog ap Maredudd Mathrafal Prince Powys and Susanna Aberffraw [aged 13] were married. She the daughter of King Gruffudd ap Cynan of Gwynedd and Angharad Queen Consort Gwynedd [aged 84]. He the son of Maredudd ap Bleddyn King Powys. They were second cousin once removed.
Around 1152 [his son] Owain Fychan ap Madog Mathrafal Prince Powys Fadog was born to Madog ap Maredudd Mathrafal Prince Powys and [his wife] Susanna Aberffraw [aged 15]. He married his first cousin Angharad Aberffraw and had issue.
Around 1155 [his son-in-law] Rhys ap Gruffydd "The Lord Rhys" Dinefwr [aged 23] and Gwenllian ferch Madog Mathrafal were married. She the daughter of Madog ap Maredudd Mathrafal Prince Powys and Susanna Aberffraw [aged 18]. He the son of Gruffudd ap Rhys King Deheubarth and Gwenllian Aberffraw Queen Consort Deheubarth. They were first cousins.
In 1160 Madog ap Maredudd Mathrafal Prince Powys died at Whittington Castle, Shropshire [Map]. He was buried at St Tysilio Meifod Radnorshire, Powys.

The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy
