Waurin’s Chronicle of England, Volume 6, covering the period 1450 to 1471, from which we have selected and translated Chapters relating to the Wars of the Roses, provides a vivid, original, contemporary description of key events some of which he witnessed first-hand, some of which he was told by the key people involved with whom Waurin had a personal relationship.

The London Gazette 34175. Whitehall, June 26, 1935. The King has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm, bearing date the 24th instant, to confer the dignity of a Baron of the United Kingdom upon The Right Honourable Sir Frederick Edward Grey Ponsonby [aged 67], GCB, GOVO, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style and title of Baron Sysonby, of Wonersh in the County of Surrey.

On 20th October 1935 Frederick "Fritz" Ponsonby 1st Baron Sysonby [aged 68] died. His son Edward [aged 32] succeeded 2nd Baron Sysonby of Wonersh in Surrey.

In 1956 Edward Gaspard Ponsonby 2nd Baron Sysonby [aged 53] died. His son John [aged 11] succeeded 3rd Baron Sysonby of Wonersh in Surrey.

In 2009 John Frederick Ponsonby 3rd Baron Sysonby [aged 64] died. Baron Sysonby of Wonersh in Surrey extinct.
