In 1751 Hugh Fortescue 1st Earl Clinton [aged 55] died unmarried. Earl Clinton extinct. His half brother Matthew [aged 32] succeeded 2nd Baron Fortescue of Castle Hill. Baron Clinton abeyant between his sister Margaret Fortescue and his second cousin Margaret Rolle Countess Orford [aged 41].

On 8th July 1752 Matthew Fortescue 2nd Baron Fortescue [aged 33] and Anne Campbell Baroness Fortescue [aged 24] were married. She by marriage Baroness Fortescue of Castle Hill.

In 1785 Matthew Fortescue 2nd Baron Fortescue [aged 66] died. His son Hugh Fortescue [aged 31] succeeded 3rd Baron Fortescue of Castle Hill.

On 16th June 1841 Hugh Fortescue 1st Earl Fortescue [aged 88] died. His son Hugh [aged 58] succeeded 2nd Earl Fortescue, 2nd Viscount Ebrington of Ebrington in Gloucestershire, 4th Baron Fortescue of Castle Hill. Elizabeth Geale Countess Fortescue by marriage Countess Fortescue.

On 14th September 1861 Hugh Fortescue 2nd Earl Fortescue [aged 78] died. His son Hugh [aged 43] succeeded 3rd Earl Fortescue, 3rd Viscount Ebrington of Ebrington in Gloucestershire, 5th Baron Fortescue of Castle Hill.

The True Chronicles of Jean le Bel Volume 2 Chapters 61-109 1342-1361

The Chronicle of Jean le Bel, Volume 2 continues one of the most important fourteenth-century accounts of the early Hundred Years’ War. His brother Denzil [aged 65] succeeded 6th Earl Fortescue, 6th Viscount Ebrington of Ebrington in Gloucestershire, 8th Baron Fortescue of Castle Hill. Marjorie Ellinor Trotter Countess Fortescue [aged 64] by marriage Countess Fortescue.

On 1st June 1977 Denzil George Fortescue 6th Earl Fortescue [aged 83] died. His son Richard [aged 55] succeeded 7th Earl Fortescue, 7th Viscount Ebrington of Ebrington in Gloucestershire, 9th Baron Fortescue of Castle Hill.
