In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

The King has been pleased to direct Letters Patent so be passed under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, granting the dignity of a Viscount of the said United Kingdom unto the Right Honourable Charles John [aged 83], Lord Colville of Culross, K.T., G.C.V.O., Lord Chamberlain to Her Majesty Queen Alexandra, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Viscount Colville of Culross, in the county of' Perth.

On 1st July 1903 Charles Colville 1st Viscount Colville [aged 84] died. His son Charles [aged 49] succeeded 2nd Viscount Colville of Culrossin Perthshire.

In 1928 Charles Colville 2nd Viscount [aged 74] died. His son Charles [aged 40] succeeded 3rd Viscount Colville of Culrossin Perthshire.

In 1945 Charles Colville 3rd Viscount Colville [aged 57] died. His son Mark [aged 11] succeeded 4th Viscount Colville of Culrossin Perthshire.

On 8th April 2010 Mark Colville 4th Viscount Colville [aged 76] died. His son Charles [aged 50] succeeded 5th Viscount Colville of Culrossin Perthshire.
