Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk 1791-1856

On 23rd April 1789 [his father] Bernard Howard 12th Duke of Norfolk [aged 23] and [his mother] Elizabeth Belasyse Duchess Norfolk [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Henry Belasyse 2nd Earl Fauconberg [aged 47] and [his grandmother] Charlotte Lamb Countess Fauconberg [aged 46].

On 12th August 1791 Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk was born to Bernard Howard 12th Duke of Norfolk [aged 25] and Elizabeth Belasyse Duchess Norfolk [aged 21].

On 26th May 1794 [his step-father] Richard Bingham 2nd Earl Lucan [aged 29] and [his mother] Elizabeth Belasyse Duchess Norfolk [aged 24] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Henry Belasyse 2nd Earl Fauconberg [aged 52] and [his grandmother] Charlotte Lamb Countess Fauconberg. He the son of Charles Bingham 1st Earl Lucan [aged 58] and Margaret Smith Countess Lucan [aged 54].

Before 1815 Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 23] and Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 26] were married. She the daughter of George Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Duke Sutherland [aged 56] and Elizabeth Sutherland Duchess Sutherland 19th Countess Sutherland [aged 49]. He the son of Bernard Howard 12th Duke of Norfolk [aged 49] and Elizabeth Belasyse Duchess Norfolk [aged 44].

In 1815 [his son] Henry Granville Fitzalan 14th Duke of Norfolk was born to Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 23] and [his wife] Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 27]. He married 19th June 1839 Augusta Mary Minna Catherine Lyons Duchess Norfolk and had issue.

On 22nd August 1817 [his brother-in-law] Francis Charles Charteris 9th Earl of Wemyss [aged 21] and [his half-sister] Louisa Bingham Countess Wemyss [aged 19] were married in Paris [Map]. She the daughter of [his step-father] Richard Bingham 2nd Earl Lucan [aged 52] and [his mother] Elizabeth Belasyse Duchess Norfolk [aged 47]. He the son of Francis Charteris 8th Earl of Wemyss Douglas 4th Earl March [aged 45].

On 20th June 1818 [his son] Edward George Fitzalan Howard 1st Baron Howard was born to Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 26] and [his wife] Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 30]. He married 22nd July 1851 Augusta Talbot and had issue.

In 1819 [his mother] Elizabeth Belasyse Duchess Norfolk [aged 49] died.

Before October 1820 Richard Grosvenor 2nd Marquess Westminster [aged 25] and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Mary Leveson-Gower Marchioness Westminster [aged 23] were married. She the daughter of [his father-in-law] George Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Duke Sutherland [aged 62] and [his mother-in-law] Elizabeth Sutherland Duchess Sutherland 19th Countess Sutherland [aged 55]. He the son of Robert Grosvenor 1st Marquess Westminster [aged 53] and Eleanor Egerton Marchioness Westminster [aged 50].

In 1822 [his daughter] Mary Charlotte Fitzalan Baroness Foley was born to Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 30] and [his wife] Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 34]. She married 16th July 1849 her half fifth cousin once removed Thomas Henry Foley 4th Baron Foley, son of Thomas Foley 3rd Baron Foley and Cecilia Olivia Geraldine Fitzgerald Baroness Foley, and had issue.

On 18th June 1822 [his brother-in-law] Francis Leveson Gower aka Egerton 1st Earl Ellesmere [aged 22] and Harriet Greville Countess Ellesmere [aged 19] were married at St George's Church, Hanover Square. He the son of [his father-in-law] George Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Duke Sutherland [aged 64] and [his mother-in-law] Elizabeth Sutherland Duchess Sutherland 19th Countess Sutherland [aged 57]. They were fourth cousin once removed.

On 28th May 1823 [his brother-in-law] George Sutherland Leveson-Gower 2nd Duke Sutherland [aged 36] and Harriet Elizabeth Georgiana Howard Duchess Sutherland [aged 17] were married. She the daughter of George Howard 6th Earl Carlisle [aged 49] and Georgiana Cavendish Countess Carlisle [aged 39]. He the son of [his father-in-law] George Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Duke Sutherland [aged 65] and [his mother-in-law] Elizabeth Sutherland Duchess Sutherland 19th Countess Sutherland [aged 58]. They were first cousin once removed.

In 1825 [his son] Bernard Thomas Fitzalan was born to Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 33] and [his wife] Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 37].

In 1829 [his daughter] Adeliza Matilda Fitzalan was born to Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 37] and [his wife] Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 41]. She married 4th October 1855 her second cousin George John Manners, son of John Henry Manners 5th Duke Rutland and Elizabeth Howard Duchess Rutland, and had issue.

On 29th June 1829 [his half-brother] George Charles Bingham 3rd Earl Lucan [aged 29] and [his sister-in-law] Anne Brudenell Countess Lucan [aged 20] were married. She the daughter of Robert Brudenell 6th Earl Cardigan [aged 60] and Penelope Cooke Countess Cardigan. He the son of [his step-father] Richard Bingham 2nd Earl Lucan [aged 64] and [his mother] Elizabeth Belasyse Duchess Norfolk.

On 19th June 1839 Henry Granville Fitzalan 14th Duke of Norfolk [aged 24] and Augusta Mary Minna Catherine Lyons Duchess Norfolk [aged 17] were married. She by marriage Duchess Norfolk. He the son of Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 47] and Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 51].

On 16th March 1842 [his father] Bernard Howard 12th Duke of Norfolk [aged 76] died. He was buried at Fitzalan Chapel, Arundel Castle [Map]. His son Henry [aged 50] succeeded 13th Duke Norfolk, 24th or 31st Earl Arundel, 14th Earl Surrey, 11th Earl Norfolk, 21st Baron Maltravers, 21st Baron Arundel. [his wife] Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 54] by marriage Duchess Norfolk.

On 29th August 1843 [his nephew] Francis Richard Charteris 10th Earl of Wemyss [aged 25] and Anne Frederica Anson Countess Wemyss [aged 20] were married. She the daughter of Thomas William Anson 1st Earl Lichfield [aged 47] and Louisa Barbara Catherine Phillips Countess Lichfield [aged 43]. He the son of [his brother-in-law] Francis Charles Charteris 9th Earl of Wemyss [aged 47] and [his half-sister] Louisa Bingham Countess Wemyss [aged 45].

In 1846 [his son] Bernard Thomas Fitzalan [aged 21] died.

In 1848 Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 56] was appointed 703rd Knight of the Garter by Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom [aged 28].

On 16th July 1849 [his son-in-law] Thomas Henry Foley 4th Baron Foley [aged 40] and Mary Charlotte Fitzalan Baroness Foley [aged 27] were married. She by marriage Baroness Foley of Kidderminster in Worcestershire. She the daughter of Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 57] and Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 61]. They were half fifth cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 22nd July 1851 Edward George Fitzalan Howard 1st Baron Howard [aged 33] and Augusta Talbot [aged 20] were married. He the son of Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 59] and Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 63].

Before 9th February 1853 George Greville 4th Earl Warwick 4th Earl Brooke [aged 34] and [his niece] Anne Charteris Countess Warwick [aged 24] were married. She the daughter of [his brother-in-law] Francis Charles Charteris 9th Earl of Wemyss [aged 56] and [his half-sister] Louisa Bingham Countess Wemyss [aged 54]. He the son of Henry Greville 3rd Earl Warwick 3rd Earl Brooke Warwick Castle [aged 73] and Sarah Elizabeth Savile Countess Warwick.

On 4th October 1855 [his son-in-law] George John Manners [aged 35] and Adeliza Matilda Fitzalan [aged 26] were married. She the daughter of Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 64] and Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 67]. He the son of John Henry Manners 5th Duke Rutland [aged 77] and Elizabeth Howard Duchess Rutland. They were second cousins.

On 18th February 1856 Henry Charles Howard 13th Duke of Norfolk [aged 64] died. His son Henry [aged 41] succeeded 14th Duke Norfolk, 25th or 32nd Earl Arundel, 15th Earl Surrey, 12th Earl Norfolk, 22nd Baron Maltravers, 22nd Baron Arundel.

In 1870 [his former wife] Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Norfolk [aged 82] died.
