In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

Ronald John Bilsland Colville 2nd Baron Clydesmuir 1917-1996

In 1915 [his father] David John Colville 1st Baron Clydesmuir [aged 20] and [his mother] Agnes Anne Bilsland [aged 18] were married.

On 21st May 1917 Ronald John Bilsland Colville 2nd Baron Clydesmuir was born to David John Colville 1st Baron Clydesmuir [aged 23] and Agnes Anne Bilsland [aged 20].

In 1949 [his son] David Ronald Colville 3rd Baron Clydesmuir was born to Ronald John Bilsland Colville 2nd Baron Clydesmuir [aged 31].

On 31st October 1954 [his father] David John Colville 1st Baron Clydesmuir [aged 60] died. His son Ronald [aged 37] succeeded 2nd Baron CLydesmuir of Braidwood in Lanarkshire.

In 1963 Ronald John Bilsland Colville 2nd Baron Clydesmuir [aged 45] was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire whic office he held until 1992

On 29th December 1970 [his mother] Agnes Anne Bilsland [aged 74] died.

In 1972 Ronald John Bilsland Colville 2nd Baron Clydesmuir [aged 54] was appointed Knight of the Thistle.

In 1978 Ronald John Bilsland Colville 2nd Baron Clydesmuir [aged 60] was elected and Honourary Fellow of the Royal Society of Scotland.

On 2nd October 1996 Ronald John Bilsland Colville 2nd Baron Clydesmuir [aged 79] died. His son David [aged 47] succeeded 3rd Baron CLydesmuir of Braidwood in Lanarkshire.
