Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury 1803-1868

In 1800 [his father] Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot [aged 22] and [his mother] Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot [aged 28] were married. She by marriage Countess Talbot. He the son of [his grandfather] John Chetwynd-Talbot 1st Earl Talbot and [his grandmother] Charlotte Augusta Hill Countess Talbot.

On 8th November 1803 Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury was born to Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot [aged 26] and Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot [aged 31].

On 3rd January 1819 [his mother] Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot [aged 47] died. Monument at St Mary the Virgin Church, Ingestre [Map] to her and her son Walter who died young commissioned by her husband [his father] Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot [aged 41].

On 5th April 1820 [his brother-in-law] William Legge 4th Earl Dartmouth [aged 35] and [his sister] Frances Charlotte Chetwynd-Talbot Countess Dartmouth [aged 18] were married. She by marriage Countess Dartmouth. She the daughter of [his father] Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot [aged 42] and [his mother] Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot. He the son of George Legge 3rd Earl Dartmouth and Frances Finch Countess Dartmouth [aged 59].

In 1828 Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 24] and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 20] were married. She the daughter of Henry de la Poer Beresford 2nd Marquess Waterford and Susan Hussey Carpenter Marchioness Waterford. He the son of Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot [aged 50] and Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot. They were fifth cousins.

On 25th October 1828 [his former brother-in-law] William Legge 4th Earl Dartmouth [aged 43] and Frances Barrington Countess Dartmouth were married. She by marriage Countess Dartmouth. He the son of George Legge 3rd Earl Dartmouth and Frances Finch Countess Dartmouth [aged 67].

On 13th April 1830 [his son] Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 19th Earl of Shrewsbury 4th Earl Talbot was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 26] and [his wife] Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 22]. He married 15th February 1855 Anna Theresa Cockerell Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford and had issue.

In 1831 [his brother-in-law] John Kerr 7th Marquess Lothian [aged 36] and [his sister] Cecil Chetwynd-Talbot Marchioness Lothian [aged 22] were married. She by marriage Marchioness Lothian. She the daughter of [his father] Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot [aged 53] and [his mother] Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot. He the son of William Kerr 6th Marquess Lothian and Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore.

On 27th February 1831 [his daughter] Victoria Susan Chetwynd-Talbot was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 27] and [his wife] Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 23].

On 27th March 1834 [his son] Walter Cecil Chetwynd-Talbot aka Carpenter was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 30] and [his wife] Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 26] at Ingestre, Staffordshire. He married 1. 27th October 1869 Maria Georgiana Mundy and had issue 2. 10th February 1887 Beatrice Grey, daughter of Thomas Grey 5th Baron Walsingham and Emily Julia Thellusson Baroness Walsingham.

On 15th June 1836 [his daughter] Constance Harriet Mahonesa Talbot Marchioness Lothian was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 32] and [his wife] Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 28] at Blickling Hall, Norfolk [Map]. She married 12th August 1857 her first cousin William Schomberg Kerr 8th Marquess Lothian, son of John Kerr 7th Marquess Lothian and Cecil Chetwynd-Talbot Marchioness Lothian.

On 21st March 1840 [his daughter] Gertrude Frances Chetwynd-Talbot Countess Pembroke and Montgomery was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 36] and [his wife] Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 32]. She married 8th May 1877 George Robert Charles Herbert 13th Earl Pembroke 10th Earl Montgomery, son of Sidney Herbert 1st Baron Herbert Lea.

On 11th July 1841 [his son] Reginald Chetwynd-Talbot was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 37] and [his wife] Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 33]. He married 8th May 1877 Margaret Jane Stuart-Wortley.

In June 1842 [his brother-in-law] Henry de la Poer Beresford 3rd Marquess Waterford [aged 31] and Louisa Anne Stuart Marchioness Waterford [aged 24] were married byy his uncle Archbishop John Beresford [aged 68] at the Chapel Roal, Whitehall. She by marriage Marchioness Waterford. He the son of Henry de la Poer Beresford 2nd Marquess Waterford and Susan Hussey Carpenter Marchioness Waterford.

On 20th February 1843 [his brother-in-law] John Beresford 4th Marquess Waterford [aged 28] and Christiana Leslie Marchioness of Waterford [aged 23] were married. He the son of Henry de la Poer Beresford 2nd Marquess Waterford and Susan Hussey Carpenter Marchioness Waterford.

On 9th June 1846 [his nephew] William Legge 5th Earl Dartmouth [aged 22] and Augusta Finch Countess Dartmouth [aged 24] were married. She the daughter of Heneage Finch 5th Earl Aylesford [aged 60] and Augusta Sophia Greville Countess Aylesford. He the son of [his former brother-in-law] William Legge 4th Earl Dartmouth [aged 61] and [his sister] Frances Charlotte Chetwynd-Talbot Countess Dartmouth. They were second cousins.

On 10th January 1849 [his father] Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot [aged 71] died at Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire. His son Henry [aged 45] succeeded 3rd Earl Talbot, 3rd Viscount Ingestre, 5th Baron Talbot of Hensol in Glamorganshire. [his wife] Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 41] by marriage Countess Talbot.

On 15th February 1855 Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 19th Earl of Shrewsbury 4th Earl Talbot [aged 24] and Anna Theresa Cockerell Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford [aged 18] were married. He the son of Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 51] and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 47].

In 1856 Bertrand Arthur Talbot 17th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 24] died. His half eighth cousin Henry [aged 52] succeeded 18th Earl of Shrewsbury, 18th Earl Waterford.

Victoria Susan Chetwynd-Talbot: On 27th February 1831 she was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford. Adeline Horsey Recollections. Lady Victoria Talbot, who was staying at Gopsall, was very much in love with Lord Anson, and was always trying to make a sketch of him. I got tired of seeing impressions of the Anson profile, full face, three-quarter face, lying about as thick as leaves in Vallambrosa; but Lady Victoria went on blissfully sketching, until one morning her mother discovered the work of the love-smitten amateur artist. "Who did these .'" she demanded, thinking somebody was Anson mad. Lady Victoria apparently dreaded confession, for the Countess seemed by her manner to consider sketching young men rather a fast proceeding. Lady Victoria cast an appealing glance at me - "Miss de Horsey did them, mamma!" I accepted the lie, and after that the Anson sketching mania died a natural death.

She by marriage Marchioness Lothian. She the daughter of Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 53] and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 49]. He the son of John Kerr 7th Marquess Lothian and Cecil Chetwynd-Talbot Marchioness Lothian [aged 49]. They were first cousins.

In 1865 [his nephew] Schomberg Henry Kerr Kerr 9th Marquess Lothian [aged 31] and Victoria Alexandrina Montagu-Douglas-Scott Marchioness Lothian [aged 20] were married. She the daughter of Walter Scott 5th Duke Buccleuch 7th Duke Queensberry and Charlotte Anne Thynne Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensbury [aged 53]. He the son of [his former brother-in-law] John Kerr 7th Marquess Lothian and [his sister] Cecil Chetwynd-Talbot Marchioness Lothian [aged 56]. They were sixth cousins.

In 1865 Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 61] was appointed Admiral.

In 1868 [his son-in-law] Adelbert Wellington Brownlow Cust 3rd Earl Brownlow [aged 23] and Adelaide Chetwynd-Talbot Countess Brownlow were married. She by marriage Countess Brownlow. She the daughter of Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 64] and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford [aged 60]. They were half fifth cousins.

On 4th June 1868 Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury [aged 64] died. His son Charles [aged 38] succeeded 19th Earl of Shrewsbury, 19th Earl Waterford, 4th Earl Talbot, 4th Viscount Ingestre, 6th Baron Talbot of Hensol in Glamorganshire. Anna Theresa Cockerell Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford [aged 32] by marriage Countess of Shrewsbury, Countess Waterford, Countess Talbot.

Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 19th Earl of Shrewsbury 4th Earl Talbot: On 13th April 1830 he was born to Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford. On 15th February 1855 he and Anna Theresa Cockerell Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford were married. He the son of Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford. In 1874 he was appointed Privy Council. On 11th May 1877 he died. His son Charles succeeded 20th Earl of Shrewsbury, 20th Earl Waterford, 5th Earl Talbot, 5th Viscount Ingestre, 7th Baron Talbot of Hensol in Glamorganshire.

Anna Theresa Cockerell Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford: On 20th February 1836 she was born to Richard Howe Cockerell and Theresa Howe Newcomen. On 29th July 1912 she died.

Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford: On 8th November 1807 she was born to Henry de la Poer Beresford 2nd Marquess Waterford and Susan Hussey Carpenter Marchioness Waterford. In 1828 Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury and she were married. She the daughter of Henry de la Poer Beresford 2nd Marquess Waterford and Susan Hussey Carpenter Marchioness Waterford. He the son of Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot and Frances Thomasina Lambart Countess Talbot. They were fifth cousins. On 10th January 1849 Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot died at Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire. His son Henry succeeded 3rd Earl Talbot, 3rd Viscount Ingestre, 5th Baron Talbot of Hensol in Glamorganshire. She by marriage Countess Talbot.
