Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt 1757-1847

In 1733 [his father] George Venables-Vernon 1st Baron Vernon [aged 23] and Mary Howard [aged 23] were married.

In 1741 [his father] George Venables-Vernon 1st Baron Vernon [aged 31] and Anne Lee [aged 15] were married.

On 10th April 1744 [his father] George Venables-Vernon 1st Baron Vernon [aged 35] and [his mother] Martha Harcourt Baroness Vernon of Kinderton [aged 28] were married at St George's Church, Hanover Square.

On 10th October 1757 Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt was born to George Venables-Vernon 1st Baron Vernon [aged 48] and Martha Harcourt Baroness Vernon of Kinderton [aged 42] at Sudbury Hall, Derbyshire [Map].

On 26th September 1765 [his brother-in-law] George Harcourt 2nd Earl Harcourt [aged 29] and [his sister] Elizabeth Venables-Vernon Countess Harcourt [aged 19] were married. He the son of [his uncle] Simon Harcourt 1st Earl Harcourt [aged 51] and Rebecca Samborne Le Bass. They were first cousins.

On 22nd March 1770 Frederick Howard 5th Earl Carlisle [aged 21] and [his future sister-in-law] Margaret Caroline Leveson-Gower Countess Carlisle were married. She by marriage Countess Carlisle. She the daughter of [his future father-in-law] Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Marquess Stafford [aged 48] and Louisa Egerton Countess Gower. He the son of Henry Howard 4th Earl Carlisle and Isabella Byron Countess Carlisle [aged 48]. They were fourth cousin once removed.

On 14th February 1779 [his brother] Henry Venables-Vernon 3rd Baron Vernon [aged 31] and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Rebecca Anne Sedley [aged 22] were married.

On 21st August 1780 [his father] George Venables-Vernon 1st Baron Vernon [aged 71] died. His son [his half-brother] George [aged 45] succeeded 2nd Baron Vernon of Kinderton in Cheshire.

On 5th February 1784 Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 26] and Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 23] were married. She the daughter of Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Marquess Stafford [aged 62] and Louisa Egerton Countess Gower.

On 6th August 1785 [his son] George Harcourt was born to Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 27] and [his wife] Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 24]. He married 1. 27th March 1815 his sixth cousin Elizabeth Bingham, daughter of Richard Bingham 2nd Earl Lucan and Elizabeth Belasyse Duchess Norfolk, and had issue 2. 30th September 1847 Frances Braham Countess Waldegrave.

On 4th September 1785 [his brother-in-law] George Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Duke Sutherland [aged 27] and Elizabeth Sutherland Duchess Sutherland 19th Countess Sutherland [aged 20] were married. He by marriage Earl Sutherland. She the daughter of William Sutherland 18th Earl Sutherland. He the son of [his father-in-law] Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Marquess Stafford [aged 64] and Louisa Egerton Countess Gower.

On 25th May 1786 [his half-brother] George Venables-Vernon 2nd Baron Vernon [aged 51] and [his sister-in-law] Jane Georgiana Fauquier Baroness Vernon [aged 38] were married. She by marriage Baroness Vernon of Kinderton in Cheshire.

In 1788 [his son] Reverend Leveson-Vernon-Harcourt was born to Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 30] and [his wife] Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 27]. He married 19th August 1815 Caroline Mary Peachey, daughter of John Peachey 2nd Baron Selsey.

In June 1789 [his son] William Vernon-Harcourt was born to Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 31] and [his wife] Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 28].

On 15th June 1790 [his son] Admiral Frederick Edward Vernon-Harcourt was born to Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 32] and [his wife] Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 29]. He married 1829 his fifth cousin Marcia Tollemache and had issue.

In 1791 [his son] Henry Vernon-Harcourt was born to Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 33] and [his wife] Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 30]. He married 20th April 1835 Frances Harley, daughter of Edward Harley 5th Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer and Jane Elizabeth Scott Countess of Oxford and Mortimer.

On 16th May 1791 Henry Charles Somerset 6th Duke Beaufort [aged 24] and [his sister-in-law] Charlotte Sophia Leveson-Gower Duchess Beaufort [aged 20] were married at St Mary at Lambeth Church, Surrey [Map]. She the daughter of [his father-in-law] Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Marquess Stafford [aged 69] and Susanna Stewart Marchioness Stafford. He the son of Henry Somerset 5th Duke Beaufort [aged 46] and Elizabeth Boscawen Duchess Beaufort [aged 43]. They were half fourth cousin once removed.

On 8th April 1794 [his mother] Martha Harcourt Baroness Vernon of Kinderton [aged 78] died at Lower Grosvenor Street, Belgravia.

In 1795 Dudley Ryder 1st Earl of Harrowby [aged 32] and [his sister-in-law] Susanna Leveson-Gower Countess Harrowby Lincolnshire [aged 22] were married. She the daughter of [his father-in-law] Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Marquess Stafford [aged 73] and Susanna Stewart Marchioness Stafford.

On 29th November 1795 [his brother] Henry Venables-Vernon 3rd Baron Vernon [aged 48] and [his sister-in-law] Alice Lucy Whitefoord Baroness Vernon [aged 28] were married at Wollaton, Nottinghamshire. The difference in their ages was 20 years.

On 6th January 1801 [his son] Francis Vernon-Harcourt was born to Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 43] and [his wife] Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 40]. He married 20th November 1837 Charlotte Jenkinson Countess Verulam, daughter of Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool.

In 1803 [his son] Egerton Vernon-Harcourt was born to Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 45] and [his wife] Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 42]. He married 8th December 1859 his half fifth cousin once removed Laura Emma Milner, daughter of William Mordaunt Sturt Milner 4th Baronet and Harriet Elizabeth Cavendish-Bentinck.

On 26th November 1807 Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 50] was elected Archbishop of York.

On 24th December 1809 [his brother-in-law] Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Earl Granville [aged 36] and Harriet Cavendish Countess Granville [aged 24] were married. She the daughter of William Cavendish 5th Duke Devonshire [aged 61] and Georgiana Spencer Duchess Devonshire. He the son of [his father-in-law] Granville Leveson-Gower 1st Marquess Stafford and Susanna Stewart Marchioness Stafford. They were half fourth cousin once removed.

On 27th March 1815 George Harcourt [aged 29] and Elizabeth Bingham were married. She the daughter of Richard Bingham 2nd Earl Lucan [aged 50] and Elizabeth Belasyse Duchess Norfolk [aged 45]. He the son of Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 57] and Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 54]. They were sixth cousins.

On 19th August 1815 Reverend Leveson-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 27] and Caroline Mary Peachey were married. He the son of Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 57] and Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 54].

On 17th June 1830 William Harcourt 3rd Earl Harcourt [aged 87] died without issue. Earl Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt and Viscount Harcourt of Stanton Harcourt in Oxfordshire extinct. Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 72] succeeded to the Harcourt estates and adopted the additional surname Harcourt.

On 16th November 1832 [his wife] Anne Leveson-Gower [aged 71] died.

On 20th April 1835 Henry Vernon-Harcourt [aged 44] and Frances Harley were married. She the daughter of Edward Harley 5th Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer [aged 62] and Jane Elizabeth Scott Countess of Oxford and Mortimer. He the son of Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 77] and Anne Leveson-Gower.

Anne Venables-Vernon: On 2nd March 1754 he was born to George Venables-Vernon 1st Baron Vernon and Martha Harcourt Baroness Vernon of Kinderton. On 10th April 1837 he died.

On 20th November 1837 Francis Vernon-Harcourt [aged 36] and Charlotte Jenkinson Countess Verulam were married. She the daughter of Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool. He the son of Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 80] and Anne Leveson-Gower.

On 30th September 1847 George Harcourt [aged 62] and Frances Braham Countess Waldegrave [aged 26] were married. The difference in their ages was 35 years. He the son of Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 89] and Anne Leveson-Gower.

On 5th November 1847 Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt [aged 90] died.
